Patriotic Pops: July 3 at the Fairgrounds

Pack the family picnic basket, wave the flag, and join Music in the Mountains for Patriotic Pops on July 3 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The MIM Chorus and 65-piece Orchestra all come together in this patriotic program to perform famous works of patriotic music. In addition to the music, this popular community event includes patriotic festivities such the Marine Color Guard, a fly over from planes from Beale Air Force Base, picnicking, food trucks, colorful outfits and decorations, and a few other surprises. Music in the Mountains SummerFest Begins

Music in the Mountains SummerFest at the Nevada County Fairgrounds begins this week.  There’s The Glory of Russian Ballet, An Evening with Randy Newman, Cirque de la Symphonie – just to name a few.   SummerFest culminates on July 3, with “Happy Birthday, USA.”  What fun! Music in the Mountains SummerFest

Music in the Mountains has an amazing lineup of music this weekend (June 21 and 22) at the Nevada County Fairgrounds! Saturday is the Family Music Faire with Lemony Snicket’s “The Composer is Dead” AND Alasdair Fraser’s Grand Fiddler’s Rally.  On Sunday, the Young Geniuses concert celebrates the year-long collaboration with Sierra Streams Institute. So much fun in one weekend!

The fun doesn’t stop there. Music in the Mountains’ SummerFest continues with the following:

June 27- The Fab Four
June 28- John Williams Spectacular
July 3- Happy Birthday USA 
 
All concerts start at 8 pm, and gates open at 6:30 pm. Bring a picnic dinner to the concerts, or enjoy an array of great food from our vendors. There is no outside alcohol permitted at the concerts, in accordance with ABC laws.  Please refrain from bringing your own alcohol as it will be confiscated at the gate.  Instead, enjoy beer, wine and selected mixed drinks from the two outdoor bars.

It’s all part of Music in the Mountains’ SummerFest, which continues through July 3.  All the details can be found on the Music in the Mountains website.

Come out to the beautiful tree-covered Nevada County Fairgrounds and enjoy great entertainment while supporting our community’s awesome Music in the Mountains!

Music in the Mountains: SummerFest 2014

Tickets to Music in the Mountain’s SummerFest 2014 are now on sale. This year’s line up includes some extraordinary classical offerings, an Orchestra Series, and a series of Concerts Under the Stars, including “The Fab Four” Beatles tribute band on June 27 at the Fairgrounds. 

SummerFest 2014 runs June 11 through July 3, and is definitely a fun-filled three weeks. For tickets and information, visit Music in the Mountain’s website
