Join the beautiful Draft Horses at the 2015 Draft Horse Classic. Majestic Draft Horse performances, breath-taking competitions, and seeing a Draft Horse “up-close” – it’s all part of the Annual Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. The Classic has grown to become the premier Draft Horse show in the western United States, and features six majestic performances, along with non-stop entertainment in between classes.
Art at the Classic: Call for Artists
Are you interested in showcasing your artwork at Art at the Classic? Held during the Draft Horse Classic, this equine and western art show features more than 100 works by painters, sculptors, photographers and other fine artists. If you are an interested artist, please complete the application below.
Would you like to be a vendor at the 2015 Draft Horse Classic? We love our vendors, and we always welcome new vendors! If you are interested, the vendor application will be available in the Fair Office and online beginning April 1, 2015.
2014 Draft Horse Classic Winners
Awards for the 28th annual Draft Horse Classic have been announced. Jerry Wismer of Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, judged the Draft Horse competitions and halter show. Dwight Gilbert from Nevada was the judge of the pulling contest; and Jim Poor from the Midland/Odessa area was the horseshoe competition judge. (For more information, see the Announcement). Hours of the Draft Horse Classic & Harvest Fair
Thursday: 4 pm until end of last performance
Friday: Noon until end of last performance
Saturday and Sunday: 9 am until end of last performance
Harvest Fair Festivities
Don’t miss all the excitement that happens at the Fairgrounds during the four days of the Draft Horse Classic. We’ve got a little bit of something for everyone – everything from a world-class art show to visits to the barns to musical entertainment. Or, simply sit under the tall pine trees and enjoy some of the delicious food at the Classic. While there is a charge for Draft Horse performances, admission on the Fairgrounds and to the Harvest Fair is free! Click here for a list of all the activities happening at the Harvest Fair.
