We absolutely love this year’s Fair artwork (thank you, Kathryn Wronski)! By popular request, these fun art posters will be for sale in our Fair souvenir booth (yep, that’s right, we will have a souvenir booth this year!), along with lots of other fun items. Don’t you just love this artwork?! And can you believe the Fair opens a month from tomorrow?
Pack the family picnic basket, wave the flag, and join Music in the Mountains for Patriotic Pops on July 3 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The MIM Chorus and 65-piece Orchestra all come together in this patriotic program to perform famous works of patriotic music. In addition to the music, this popular community event includes patriotic festivities such the Marine Color Guard, a fly over from planes from Beale Air Force Base, picnicking, food trucks, colorful outfits and decorations, and a few other surprises. Tickets are available at the gate or at musicinthemountains.org. Photo by Kial James.
Have kids who are interested in participating in a Flower Arranging Workshop for Juniors (ages 6 – 17)? Chicago Park Garden Club is hosting a class for kids to prepare them to enter an exhibit in the Junior Floriculture Competition during the Fair. The class is free, and kids create the cutest arrangements. The class is limited to the first 25 students, and is held on June 20. To register, call Ann at 265-8210.
