Meet Elsa. This little cutie stopped by our office to show us her new bike and helmet. Elsa rides her bike each week at the Fairgrounds and told us she likes the Fairgrounds because she can go super fast and race her Mom around the grounds. She also said that she hopes to “someday get her training wheels off and race her friends around the grounds.” We love seeing our youngest generation enjoying the grounds! Thank you, Elsa, for stopping by, and we love your new bike and helmet!
Friends of the Fairgrounds: Rocky and Dewitt
Meet Rocky and his owner, Dewitt. Rocky brought his owner in the office a few weeks ago to donate money for the doggy bags found at the Fairgrounds and to thank us for letting him walk at the Fairgrounds. Dewitt says that he and Patricia (not pictured) have been walking with Rocky at the Fairgrounds for years because of its park-like setting and because it makes Rocky happy! Glad to see you out here, Patricia, Dewitt and Rocky; and, thank you, Rocky, for the donation! 🙂
Friends of the Fairgrounds
We love our walkers! This little cutie was out enjoying a walk at the fairgrounds with her grandparents. As her Mom said, “Thank you for making the Fairgrounds open to the public.” You are so welcome, and we’re so happy to see our youngest generation enjoying the beautiful grounds! Friends of the Fairgrounds: Howard and Hugh
Meet Howard and Hugh, who walk the Fairgrounds 2 to 3 times a week (more now that the weather is warmer). These long-time friends have been walking the grounds for about 4 years, and do it for “health reasons and because of all the friendly people they meet on their walks). Always happy to see you out here, Howard and Hugh!
Friends of the Fairgrounds: Easy Livin’ Kampers
Meet the Santa Rosa Easy Livin’ Kampers (ELKs). They recently spent time with us at the RV Park at the Nevada County Fairgrounds – and what fun they were! Photographer Dick Kuykendall took 250 photos, and said the group had such a good time and they can’t wait to return. Thanks for visiting us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back, ELKs.
Friends of the Fairgrounds: Elena
Meet Elena, who chose to have her senior portraits taken at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Why the Fairgrounds? “It’s so beautiful and peaceful out here; and I love that my family has been part of these Fairgrounds for generations. I work here in the summer, my Mom works here year-round, my Grandpa used to be the CEO, and both my Grandpa and my Great Grandma are in the Fair’s Hall of Fame. It holds a special place in my heart!” We love you, Elena; and we think the Fairgrounds is a perfect spot for your senior portraits!
Friends of the Fairgrounds: Tim and Ruby
Meet Tim and Ruby, who walk the Fairgrounds every day. “We love the beauty of the Fairgrounds, all the friendly people we meet, and going to see the employees at the Fairgrounds office. Plus, Ruby loves to get treats and to see the kids at Tall Pines Nursery School.” Tim and Ruby have spent many, many years at the Fairgrounds, as Tim is married to now-retired Teacher Debby from Tall Pines. We love seeing you out here, Tim and Ruby!!
Friends of the Fairgrounds: Linda, Ronda, Vicky and David
Meet Linda, Ronda, Vicky and David. These three sisters (and David, who is married to Ronda) walk the Fairgrounds every day, and “enjoy the sunshine, the green grass, the fresh air, the tall trees, and getting their “steps” in.” They do three to four times around, and it’s been beneficial to their health (Linda has overcome diabetes and Vicky is healthy after a heart attack). Says Ronda, “I love them too much to lose them, so I walk to support them.” We’re so glad you’re out here, and thanks for being an inspiration to all of us!
