Evacuation Update (8:45 am on February 15)

We are still open to evacuees at the Fairgrounds and at our RV Park, and open to large and small animals. We have about 120 evacuees on site; and evacuees from First Baptist Church will be moving to the Fairgrounds this morning. Salvation Army continues to provide meals. The donation center is open from 8 am to 4 pm at Gate 4, and the following items are needed for evacuees: rain gear, ponchos, tarps, laundry soap, toddler pajamas, socks (toddler and adult), and adult underwear.  At this point, these are the only items that are needed. Thank you for your continued kindness.

Evacuation Update (4:45 pm on Feburary 13)

The National Guard just brought boxes of cots, pillows, and blankets; and the Salvation Army is preparing for dinner for the evacuees. We have 900+ evacuees onsite, and about 50 small animals.  The Nevada County Veterinary Disaster Relief Team let us know that they do not need any more items or food for animals at this time (thank you all for being so generous).  We will let you know of other donations needed as we receive updates.

Evacuation Update (9:00 am on February 13)

The Nevada County Fairgrounds is still available for evacuees and large and small animals. We have room in our buildings and our RV Park (for RVs). The Salvation Army is on the grounds feeding the evacuees.
