Planning a wedding or special event? Know someone who is getting married? Join us on Sunday, January 22 for Grass Valley’s Premier Wedding Fair at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The Main Street Center will be transformed into seasonal displays showcasing some of the top wedding and event vendors in Nevada County. All vendors will be offering show discounts. Admission is free! For information, http://joyoflifeevents.com/grass-valley-wedding-fair/.
Part of the Fairgrounds’ team spent the morning at Folsom State Prison with members of the Foothill Lions Club visiting the “Folsom Project for the Visually Impaired,” a project that offers services to the visually impaired and helps rehabilitate inmates at Folsom Prison. Since its Inception, 3 million pairs of glasses have been donated and distributed in the US and across the globe. A huge thank you to our local Lions Club for inviting us and for all their work (and our local community’s donations) to this partnership!
Have you visited Califia Cafe, the little red trolley at the Fairgrounds? The Café is open Monday-Friday from 7 – 12:30 pm, rain or shine. It is located at Gate 1, and serves coffee, espresso, tea and pastries. Drive up, get your coffee and enjoy the Nevada County Fairgrounds!
It’s the “Best Of” time of year! The Union is taking votes for their 2016 Best of Nevada County poll and we are thrilled that the Nevada County Fair has been nominated as Best Local Event and Best Place to Take the Kids. Additionally, the Nevada County Fairgrounds is nominated for Best Event Venue, Best Place to Picnic, Best place for Cycling, and Best Campground. What an honor – and we’re so, so pleased to see the Fairgrounds are loved and used by our community. If you’d like to vote, here’s the link: Theunion.com/bestof2016.
