Recruitment for Fairgrounds’ CEO Begins

The Board of Directors of the Nevada County Fairgrounds announced this week that the search for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Nevada County Fairgrounds has begun. The CEO position is responsible for managing the Nevada County Fair, the Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair, the Country Christmas Faire, year-round events, concerts, the RV Park, and community gatherings at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

Qualified candidates should have a background in business administration, agriculture, and event/fair experience. Candidates should also have strong leadership, organizational, financial management, marketing and communication skills; as well as a willingness to be active in local, regional, and state association activities.

All-You-Can-Eat Cioppino Feed

Join the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation at its fifth annual All-You-Can-Eat Cioppino Feed on Saturday, March 7 at Ponderosa Hall at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5 pm, and dinner service begins at 6 pm.

For the event, the chefs will create and serve Arnie Romanello’s special 100-year-old recipe for all to enjoy. Dinner includes antipasto, all-you-can-eat Cioppino, salad and garlic bread. This year, a pasta dish will be available to those who do not prefer Cioppino, but want to attend the event. A no-host bar will also be available, and there will be a silent dessert auction and a live auction.

Tickets are $40 per person. If you’d like to purchase a table for 8, it is $350 and includes two bottles of wine.

Tickets are available by visiting the Nevada County Fairgrounds, calling the Fair Office at (530) 273-6217, or downloading an order form.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation and its mission of supporting and improving the community’s Fairgrounds.
