Summer Hours at the Fairgrounds

Effective immediately, the Nevada County Fairgrounds will return to its summer hours. This change in hours means that the Fairgrounds’ inner-grounds and gates will be open during the week and on the weekends from 8 am to 4:30 pm.  The public restrooms will also be closed each day at 4:30 pm.

The summer hours only apply to the inner-grounds and gate closures; it does not affect the Fairgrounds’ Administration Office, which is open during its normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.  Additionally, the RV Park at the Fairgrounds will remain open during its normal business hours – 9 am to noon and 1 to 6 pm – and the gates and inner-grounds will remain open for any events that are taking place on the grounds during the summer months.

Nevada County Fairgrounds Begins Winter Hours, Effective November 2
Inner-grounds and gates to be locked at 4:30 pm and closed on weekends

Effective November 2, the Nevada County Fairgrounds will return to its winter hours. This change in hours means that the Fairgrounds’ inner-grounds and gates will be locked at 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and closed on weekends.   The inner-grounds and gates will remain open during the week to walkers and bicyclists, but all must be off the grounds before the gates lock at 4:30 pm.

The winter hours only affect the inner-grounds and gate closures; it does not affect the Main Office, which is open during its normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.  Additionally, the RV Park at the Fairgrounds will remain open, and the gates and inner-grounds will remain open for any events that are taking place on the grounds during the winter months.

The Fairgrounds will return to its summer hours beginning May 1.

Closed to Pedestrians and Bicyclists: June 14 – 21

In preparation for the annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival, June 18 – 21, in addition to a private music camp June 14 – 17, the Nevada County Fairgrounds will be closed to walkers and bicyclists beginning June 14. The Fairgrounds will re-open its gates to walkers and bicyclists as usual on Monday, June 22. This closure does not affect the Main Office, which is open during its normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

The RV Park at the Fairgrounds will also be closed to the public from June 14 – 21.

At various times throughout the year the grounds are rented by organizations for large, community events like the Bluegrass Festival, the Strawberry Music Festival, the KVMR Celtic Festival, and The California WorldFest. During these times, it becomes necessary to close the grounds to pedestrians in preparation for these various events.

Nevada County Fairgrounds Closed To Pedestrians May 19 – 25

In preparation for the Strawberry Music Festival, May 21 – 24, the Nevada County Fairgrounds will be closed to pedestrians – walkers and bicyclists – beginning Tuesday, May 19. The Fairgrounds will re-open its gates to walkers and bicyclists as usual on Tuesday, May 26. This closure does not affect the Main Office, which is open during its normal business hours.

The RV Park at the Fairgrounds will also be closed to the public from May 19 – 25.

At various times throughout the year the grounds are rented by organizations for large, community events like the Strawberry Music Festival, the California WorldFest, the Bluegrass Festival, and the KVMR Celtic Festival. During these times, it becomes necessary to close the grounds to pedestrians in preparation for these various events.

The Fairgrounds will re-open its gates to walkers and bicyclists as usual on Monday, July 14. This closure does not affect the Main Office, which is open during its normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
