About the Nevada County
Fairgrounds Foundation

“Building a better Nevada County Fairgrounds through fundraising and contributions to the Fairgrounds.”

gazebo at end of Gold PathOur mission at the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation is simple – to build a better Nevada County Fairgrounds through fundraising and contributions to the Fairgrounds.

Formed in 2005 to support this mission, our fundraising efforts are focused on supporting and improving the health and beauty of the Fairgrounds, enhancing the community’s use of the Fairgrounds, and fostering projects that develop our local youth in agriculture.

The Nevada County Fairgrounds, formally known as the 17th District Agricultural Association, is a state agency, yet it does not receive any funding from the State of California. The Fairgrounds’ revenue is generated through activities on the Fairgrounds, including the annual Fair, the Draft Horse Classic, the Country Christmas Faire, camping facilities and the more than 200 other activities that happen throughout the year on the grounds. As impressive as this may sound, the fact is that dramatic increases in expenses make balancing the budget a challenge, and leaves little remaining funds for major maintenance and capital improvement so essential to the ongoing health and beauty of the community Fairgrounds.

When you collaborate with the Foundation – either through a monetary donation, becoming a Foundation member, or participating in one of the Foundation’s fundraising opportunities – you are contributing to the Foundation’s mission while also ensuring that the Fairgrounds continues to thrive and remain as California’s most beautiful Fairgrounds.

The Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation, Inc. is a California Public Benefit Corporation, organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Your donations and contributions are tax deductible!
