Drive-Through Treat Street
The Nevada County Fair is one of the very few fairs that have food concessions almost entirely provided by local nonprofits. The 29 nonprofit groups represented on Treat Street do amazing work in the community, in addition to providing some of the best Fair food around. Last year’s Treat Street sales raised almost $1 million for local nonprofit organizations. The money they raise during the Fair helps support their missions and deliver vital services to the community.
What’s Happening in 2020?
We know you all love Treat Street, and while we have been busy behind-the-scenes planning a Treat Street Drive Through event, we have decided to postpone the event at this time. The reasons are many – recent public health directives, health and financial concerns from the Treat Street vendors, and increased food costs all resulted in making the event not feasible at this time. However, we will keep the plan in place in hopes that we can offer this at a future date – when it is safe to do so and the Treat Street organizations are more comfortable moving forward.
Throughout this planning process, we made it very clear to the Treat Street organizations that this was voluntary and needed to make sense for them. We acknowledge and respect that the time simply isn’t right and applaud the Treat Street organizations for prioritizing the health concerns of their dedicated volunteers.
In the meantime, we encourage everyone who was planning to attend to support one of the many local restaurants that are offering outdoor dining and to-go service and make a direct donation to one of the Treat Street nonprofit organizations.
