“Simply Fun!” is the theme for the 2014 Nevada County Fair, August 6 – 10. We’re already busy planning for five days of excitement and fun for Fair-goers of all ages. The Nevada County Fair is the perfect opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, carnival rides, animals, and exhibits – in a community-friendly environment and at affordable family prices!

Upcoming Livestock Deadlines
Below are the deadlines for the Nevada County Fair’s mandatory registration for market animals and other livestock.
Market Goat, Lambs, and Swine Registration opens: May 19 Deadline: June 6 at 4 pm Registration instructions will be available early May
Ag Mechanics, Ag Mechanics Auction, Market Eggs and Broiler, Turkey and Rabbit Meat Pens Registration opens: June 2 Deadline: July 1, 4:00 pm Rules and details available in the Competition Handbook and at the Fair Office, beginning June 2.
All Other Livestock Entry forms due by: Friday, July 18 at 4 pm Rules and details available in the Competition Handbook, available online and at the Fair Office, beginning June 2.

”Simply Fun!” Winners of the Fair Artwork Design Contest
Congratulations to Brittany Zweigle and April DePiazza of Grass Valley for having their artwork chosen to represent the Nevada County Fair and the theme for the 2014 Fair – “Simply Fun!” This year we’ve chosen two different looks – a photograph and a drawing – to represent the Fair’s theme. Dawn Narvaez of Penn Valley submitted the theme of “Simply Fun!” as part of our community contest in November to determine the theme for this year’s Fair.
The 2013 Nevada County Fair had more than 7,200 exhibit entries. Wow! What a talented community! Below is a list of livestock and still exhibit winners by category.
