In between the Draft Horse performances, the Harvest Fair is bustling with activity. The Harvest Fair is an experience that can be enjoyed by kids and adults – and admission is free! Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the barns and meet the horses, enjoy delicious food and beverages, shop from the many vendors selling wares, check out the art show and exhibits, or sit and enjoy musical entertainment.
Forging Clinic: Friday at 10 am, adjacent to Foundation Station, near Gate 5
Live Shoeing Competition: Saturday at 9 am, adjacent to Foundation Station, near Gate 5
As part of the Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair, enjoy free musical entertainment at the Western Music Fest at the Fairgrounds. Music will be featured beginning at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All music at the Western Music Fest is free, so stop by the Fairgrounds, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the music at the Pine Tree Stage.
Art at the Classic
Held during the four days of the Draft Horse Classic, Art at the Classic is a world-class equine and western art show features more than 100 works by painters, sculptors, photographers and other fine artists. Take time to browse the show, meet some of the artists and purchase beautiful works of original art, photography, cards and other items from the artists’ booths.
Services Available During the Draft Horse Classic
Parking–Public Parking in Lots 1 & 4
Public Transportation–The Gold Country Stage will be providing free fares on September 17 – 20 on all routes, including a bus stop at the Nevada County Fairgrounds for the Draft Horse Classic. The Route 3 Fairgrounds bus stop is at Brighton Street and McCourtney Road, near Gate 8. For schedules, call 477-0103 or visit www.GoldCountryStage.com.
Main Office–The Fairgrounds Office is located across from the Main Street Center, at Gate 1.
Restrooms–Located inside the Main Street Center, the Arena, on Treat Street near the Horse Office (Log Cabin), and on the Gold Path.
ATM Machines–Located near Gate 1 at Main Street Center; and at Sugar Pine Lodge, near the Pine Tree Stage.
Smoke Free Event–The Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair is a smoke free event. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on the Fairgrounds except in designated outdoor areas. Those who desire to smoke or use a vaping device must visit one of the two designated smoking areas located immediately outside Gates 3 and 5.
Charging Stations–Phone charging stations are available in front of Main Street Center (Gate 1) and at Pine Tree Stage.
Lost & Found–Please check with the Administration Office at Gate 1.
First Aid–Professional medical personnel are on the grounds during the Draft Horse Classic. First aid personnel are located at the Watt Park Frosty Booth across from the Pine Tree Stage. Ask any staff member for assistance in contacting first aid personnel.
Pets–Except for service dogs, no dogs or other pets are allowed on the grounds during the Draft Horse Classic. Pets providing emotional support, well-being, comfort or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA regulations and are not permitted at the Draft Horse Classic.
