Treat Street Booth Available

The Nevada County Fairgrounds has a vacant Treat Street booth and is seeking a local nonprofit group to operate the booth at the 2020 Nevada County Fair, August 12 – 16. This is a unique fundraising opportunity for a local organization and a fun way to be part of Treat Street at the Nevada County Fair!  To apply, complete the online application below by March 20, 2020.  For questions, contact Amy at 273-6217 or .

Introducing the 2020 Nevada County Fair poster, created by talented local artist/illustrator Kathy Dotson.  We love the fun elements of this design and how Kathy perfectly captured this year’s theme of “Miners, Marigolds & Memories!”  Thank you, Kathy!

2020 Draft Horse Classic, September 17-20, Nevada County Fairgrounds

This year’s artwork was created by talented artist Katherine Plumer Fine Art and is titled “Rosebud.” Katherine is a long-time exhibitor at Art at the Classic and Rosebud is well-known at the Classic. A perfect match and the artwork is stunning! Thank you, Katherine, for the stunning artwork! And a big thank you to Kial James for the poster design.

The Draft Horse Classic is September 17 – 20. Tickets go on sale in May.


Stage Entertainment Application

Community Showcase and Demonstration Application

Do you have a dance group you’d like to see perform at the Fair? Does your group have a skill they’d like to demonstrate to Fair-goers? Want to do a martial arts demonstration, a cheerleading demonstration, or show off your dancing skills? The Nevada County Fair is now accepting applications for community acts and demonstrations to perform at the 2020 Nevada County Fair, August 12 – 16. There is no paid compensation for community showcases and demonstrations. To apply, complete the online application below by June 1.

Job Fair

The Nevada County Fairgrounds will host a Job Fair to fulfill its hiring needs for the 2020 Fair season on Tuesday, June 11, from 3 – 6 pm at the Main Street Center, located at Gate 1, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.  If you are interested in working at the Fairgrounds during the 2020 Fair season, plan to attend.  Applications will be collected and interviews conducted onsite.  Jobs available include: 

  • Gate Cashiers
  • Ticket Monitors
  • “Red Shirt” Patrol
  • Exhibit Crew
  • Clean Up Crew
  • Parking and Traffic Crew

Winter Hours

Effective immediately the Nevada County Fairgrounds will return to its winter hours. The Fairgrounds’ gates will remain open during the week to the public, but will close each weekday at 4:30 pm and will be closed on weekends. The winter hours do not affect the Main Office, which is open during its normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Additionally, the RV Park at the Fairgrounds will remain open during the winter months. The Fairgrounds will return to its summer hours beginning May 1.




Thank you, Nevada County, for voting the Nevada County Fair as the “Best Local Event” for 17 years in a row! The Fair also received “Best Place to Take the Kids” and the Fairgrounds was runner up for “Best Event Venue” and “Best Place to Cycle.” We are truly honored and we appreciate the support we constantly receive from our awesome community. Thank you!


Except for service dogs, no dogs or other pets are allowed on the grounds during events. Pets providing emotional support, well-being, comfort or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA regulations and are not permitted.
